Mike Michaels singular bad luck makes for good story telling.

Born Michael Taylor, Mike began using the stage and pen name Mike Michaels after a case of mistaken identity.                         For seven years the state of California mixed his DMV records with that of a felon, leading to him being handcuffed and detained by police for crimes he did not commit.                       He was hit by a minivan at 40 miles an hour while  biking to university three months after his wedding and consequently underwent a year long rehabilitation process. Mike wrote his first novel entitled Vigilante while healing from chemical burns incurred at a temp job he only accepted after a dream job in Hawaii fell through.

These circumstances led Mike to receive a BA in The Philosophy of Applied Law and Ethics and to pursue endeavors that enable people to help themselves. He has worked as a tutor for autistic children, a Fitness Instructor and Life Coach, and as a chess instructor. He spent two years providing service to the inner city Latino communities of New Jersey where he was immersed in the extreme poverty, violence, and selfless love that is the American ghetto.

These unique experiences caused Mike to write stories that evoke empathy and philosophical debate while providing an adventurous adrenaline rush.
